High grade asphalt for outstanding barrier. Consisting of two layers of kraft paper laminated with asphalt aquabar b is a non reinforced 30 30 30 duplex type grade b paper. You can buy laminate underlayment but if you have a bunch of old roofing felt it works just as well. Building paper is a catchall term for single ply sheathing paper manufactured in various thicknesses.

Aquabar b floor and tile underlayment is an extremely effective moisture vapor retarder for use in a variety of interior construction applications. Blue shield grade 3030 is a high grade flexible semi permeable moisture barrier designed for tile and wood flooring underlayment. Lsu 30 30 30 asphalt laminated underlayment is rated for moderate water vapor resistance. While overlapping of underlayment on the 15 is often up for debate the 30 pound product will be too thick for this purpose and should be butted together.

Produced in 36 w x 167lf 500 sq. The paper comes in rolls typically 3 feet wide. Floating floors can be installed over any existing hard floor surface but should have an underlayment between the laminate flooring and the subfloor.
